Raw, steel dropouts, same as the ones used on surly frames.

Handy with a welder, know a welder... convert your existing steel bike to one speed.

There are cases where a rear single speed hub can slip in a slotted dropout. This leads to a slackened chain which in turn leads to throwing the chain, or worse, jamming it between tire and chain stay.

These new, steel, single-speed dropouts remove any and all fear of this happening. After installing your rear wheel you turn the knurled screw end until the screw head contacts the hub axle. Tighten down the lock nut and behold. That hub ain't goin' nowhere.

These are ideal if you are a frame builder, or are having a builder convert a steel frame to horizontal dropouts. Why spend loads on a new frame when you are cool with your old geared frame?

Supplied as a pair, with adjusters, in the raw, no paint.

  • Have you ever been in a situation when you drop your bike and your mech hanger (drop out) snaps? It's not good is it!?
  • This hanger is universal so is ideal if you have more than one bike, change your bike or cycle in a group.
  • It's intended for use as a 'get me home' part, i.e. it's temporary. What you'll find is this hanger is a fraction the cost of a pucka part so what's the point spending £15 to £25 if you may never use it?
  • Simply take off your broken hanger, attach this to your frame with your mech in place and use the threaded end of the broken hanger to hold everything together.
  • Alternatively, use an M10 superfine nut.
  • It's small and light enough to fit in you camelbak, saddle bag or even your pocket, without noticing it, and it'll save your little legs.
