So you have an old road bike and want to convert it to fixed wheel. This kit has everything you need to transform your old “shed find” into a cool fixed wheel bike. I’m here to make this easy for you. It can seem complicated, but it isn’t really.
There is also a single speed freewheel + fixed option.
There are two things for you to check to make sure this is compatible with your frame:
- Is the bottom bracket shell 68mm wide? (or do you have the old 73mm bottom bracket)
- Does your frame have forward facing semi horizontal dropouts or rearward facing track dropouts – see pictures below? This is for chain tension, as you can’t run a chain tensioner on a fixed drive. If your dropouts don’t look like this you can’t go fixed.
You get:
- 700c rear wheel with130mm axle - with 5mm washers each side which can be removed to take you to 120mm for narrower frames. Freewheel threads + fixed wheel threads. Silver rim.

- Lockring
- Chain: KMC silver 1/8"
- OPTINAL: Track Cranks: 172.mm with a 48t Chainring + Bottom Bracket: 103mm x 68mm
